Eye Exams for All Ages

EYE HEALTH IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR OVERALL HEALTH, THOUGH OFTEN OVERLOOKED.

Did you know you should be having a regular eye exam even if you don't wear glasses?

A comprehensive eye exam helps detect preventable and treatable vision loss. There are a number of eye diseases that have no symptoms in the early stages and lead to devastating vision loss if not diagnosed. Conditions such as glaucoma and age related macular degeneration can progress slowly and gradually lead to permanent vision loss.

Our Optometrist performs a thorough health assessment of your eye, in addition to checking your spectacle prescription.

We invite you to book your routine eye exam with us by phone, email or online. We welcome families of all ages to meet our warm and inviting Optometrist. Bring your kids and your parents!

We look forward to seeing you!

KIDS EYE EXAMS

DID YOU KNOW 1 IN 4 CHILDREN HAVE SOME FORM OF VISION PROBLEM?

Children are often unaware that they have a vision problem. They can't always tell you what they see. Over 80% of learning is visual. What kind of learning? Everything. From classroom learning to simply taking their first steps or speaking their first words, children rely on vision to meet various milestones and thrive in their daily environment.

A regular eye exam can help detect vision problems in children as early as 6 months old.

The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that a child has their first eye exam at 6 months old, then annually after that. It is highly recommended that a child has their first eye exam before the age of 2 as this period is critical in the development of depth perception and hand eye coordination.

Not to worry! Our Optometrist has many non-invasive ways of checking a child's vision even if your child is not speaking yet. And on top of it, we do it in a fun and inviting way!

Kids under the age of 20 are covered for an annual eye exam by OHIP.
